Whatever you’re up to, i’m in
I came into the filmmaking game later in life, after spending a full decade working with homeless and at-risk youths in Boston and San Francisco neighborhoods. While finding my voice as a director, I quickly learned to say yes to whatever job that was right in front of me. This led to grand adventures around some vastly different corners in the branded and music video worlds. Being a “small market” director, we got really comfortable with small budgets and huge expectations. During my first year with brands, I had to master the art of lighting wine while trying to capture the heartaches and joys of breaking up in 60 seconds, while figuring out how to make a $200 music video starring Patton Oswalt or convince the music video label to cast my gun-toting Japanese landlord in a crime caper. It’s been a wild first decade, and like everything else I’ve been up to, it feels like we’re just getting started.
